LA Atelier at Royal Square at Novena, held Atelier Kids Safari Weekend last week, in accordance to our theme for the month of June, Safari June Holiday Activities. It is also a Fathers day weekend, where the kids dedicated their very own handmade Safari to their beloved Dad.
This workshop was specially created for kids age between 2 years old to 7 years old. In fact, the youngest kids that was curating her own safari is only 19 months old.
Our initial idea was to create a fun and yet interactive workshop exposing floristry to kids. Floristry workshop is not just only doing bouquets or table arrangements, it could be something fun and interesting which the child would love to build, for example their own one-of-a-kind safari.
Oliver Kee, 28 months old, Zenn Ong, Oliver's Mommy and Laverne Wong, 19 months old
Each child is to curate their own safari based on a given task. They can make reference from the prepare safari as a guide and they can build it from there.
They are all given a few animals to choose and a ready made green sponge tray, our facilitator for the workshop, will then guide the kids on how to layer the sponge with fresh moss.
Once the moss is perfectly layered, they can position their animals and start placing their fresh cuts flowers on the space.
Below are some of their completed floristry artwork. You will be surprise on how many animals they wishes to have in their Safari.

Till then... let's stay bloomsful!
